Allen Stone sings one note and we all go weak in the knees. I’d give this guy’s sneeze a GRAMMY. Flawless pitch, flawless soul, flawless groove. The real triple threat. Allen Stone and his all-star lineup descended upon Dallas Saturday, February 8th at Granada Theater and left my jaw on the floor.
Andy Suzuki & The Method
NYC-based Andy Suzuki & The Method rally the packed room at Granada Theatre Saturday night with their rock/soul fusion. They kicked off the show in good spirits, made friends with a lucky guy named Jamie in the front row on his date with 2 women, asked for some dating advice, and awarded band chopsticks to a few new Instagram followers.
Samm Henshaw
Joining Mr. Stone on tour all the way from South London, Samm Henshaw made his Dallas debut Saturday night. A bit of John Legend, Elliott Skinner, Jacob Banks, and Anderson .Paak marinated into one, Henshaw’s soulful pop melodies had us singing and clapping along during his entire performance.

Sam’s set included songs like ‘Only Wanna Be With You,’ ‘Doubt,’ and closing with what felt like a cheerful service on a Saturday night, ‘Church,’ his biggest hit to date which has has already garnered over 10 million views on Youtube.

Allen Stone
It’s only night 2 of tour and the excitement and energy in the room was HOT! Allen Stone appears on stage with a full band and everyone’s eyes sparkled with glee.

“It feels great to be back in Dallasssss!… I’m having a blast man. This is one of our favorite rooms to come and play.”
Allen Stone
‘Back To The Swing‘ starts up and those James Brown dance moves were a great way to kick off the show. Allen’s fierce personality is a perfect marriage for the stage and really illuminates the entire room.
Stone’s latest album ‘Building Balance‘ was released in November 2019 and his set sprinkled in a bit of new and older tunes including ‘Lay It Down,’ ‘Chippin Away,’ ‘Brown Eyed Lover,’ ‘Love Where You’re At,’ ‘Hold It Down‘ and a crowd favorite, ‘Warriors.’
In Building his own personal Balance, Stone explained there’s been a lot of changes in his life since his last tour including new band personnel, getting married, and having a child.
‘I had a kid y’all. It’s as shocking to me as it is to you,” Stone jokes.

‘Consider Me‘ starts to play and there’s a sudden outburst in the crowd near the front of the stage. When the songs ends, Stone addresses the crowd and is excited to share that a couple just got engaged. Already souring, the audience erupted in cheers, and happy whistles. A beautiful moment for this intimate room of 1,000 people. Congrats to the happy couple, and sir, well done on the song choice!
“I wrote this next song for my wife. I dedicate this one to the new couple.” Stone says.
‘Give You Blue‘ starts to play and you can’t help but be excited about the future for the new couple in the room.
I can't stop the rain
But I will keep you dry
If the shore feels far away
I'll be by your side
When the storms arise
I will shelter you
When your sky is gray
I will give you blue

‘Bed I Made‘ and ‘Unaware‘ made up the much desired encore.
I left the show thinking ‘no one else is doing what Stone is doing in music right now.’ That’s a cool space to be in and only a nod to the hard work he’s put into building his artistry, band and team around him over the years. Applause to all.
